Errors in Application Log of Event Viewer

We are running EPM 2007 on SP1 and IU.
I am getting the follwoing error messages every half hour in the application
log. Can someone give me any insight into what is wrong? Any help would be
greatly appreciated.

This applies to 2002/2003. We are running 2007. Also the error is not
happening when we publish things. It occurs every 30 minutes - at the top and
bottom of the hour. Thanks

Is this a new install? Has this been happening since your first installed
the system? The system is attempting to use the LOCAL SERVICE account when
you should have created one or more domain accounts to use as service
accounts.

MAS

This is a relatively new install. The client attmepted to migrate a 2003
install. This has been happening since I started working on the account 4
weeks ago. I just now got to the logs due to the issues with security and
other things. There is a domain service account (ProjectServer07) which is
used with the active directory sync. How would I change the service -
whichever service it is - to use the domain service account and not the local
account? What service is trying to run every half hour?

you should have created one or more domain accounts to use as service
accounts.

there a wy to do this on the server or are you talking about documenation?
There is no documentation and the person that attempted to install this has

The possible service accounts in a Project Server setup include:

SQL Server Process Account
ServerFarm Account
Application Pool Process Account
Site collection owner Account
Share Services Provider Account
Project Server Instance Administrator
SharePoint Search Service Account
SharePoint Search Content Access Account

Any of these can be run under their own service account or common service
account. You administer these through various areas of the software. As you
can see, very detailed guidance on this could be tantamount to writing a
book, but there's no need to do that as Dale and I have alreacy written one.

This is a relatively new install. The client attmepted to migrate a

We are running EPM 2007 on SP1 and IU.

Gary,
I have the book and it is excellent!
I reviewd the services running on the server and I am suspicious of the
following services that are using the NT AUTHORITY\LocalService account.

Windows SharePoint Services Tracing (all other SharePoint services are using
the Project Server service account

Project Server Session Mgr Service
Project Server Tracing Service
Project Server Views Notification Service
I would think that a Project Server service should use the Project Server
service account.

Any thoughts? Thanks again for your help.

Project Server Instance Administrator
SharePoint Search Service Account
SharePoint Search Content Access Account

Any of these can be run under their own service account or common service
account. You administer these through various areas of the software. As
you
can see, very detailed guidance on this could be tantamount to writing a
book, but there's no need to do that as Dale and I have alreacy written
one.

I'm not certain which service would cause this. I suggest that you
look
through the setup and document what's runing under what account.

This is a relatively new install. The client attmepted to migrate a
2003
install. This has been happening since I started working on the
account
4
weeks ago. I just now got to the logs due to the issues with
security
and
other things. There is a domain service account (ProjectServer07)
which
is
used with the active directory sync. How would I change the
service -
whichever service it is - to use the domain service account and not
the
local
account? What service is trying to run every half hour?

when
you should have created one or more domain accounts to use as
service
accounts.

We are running EPM 2007 on SP1 and IU.
I am getting the follwoing error messages every half hour in the

Gary,
Thanks for the help. I wanted to finish this topic off with results. I
stopped the services that I was concerned about and the errors went away. The
system is functioning just fine without these services. I have since found
out that the server that we are running on used to have Project 2003 running
also. I think these are services that have been left over from 2003. Thanks

I have the book and it is excellent!
I reviewd the services running on the server and I am suspicious of the
following services that are using the NT AUTHORITY\LocalService account.

Windows SharePoint Services Tracing (all other SharePoint services are
using
the Project Server service account

Project Server Session Mgr Service
Project Server Tracing Service
Project Server Views Notification Service
I would think that a Project Server service should use the Project Server
service account.

Any thoughts? Thanks again for your help.
