Errors w/calandar control on XP upgrade

P

Phil Jones

Hello everyone,

Our center recently upgraded to Office XP, (MS Access 2002), and several of
my users are reporting errors when they invoke the calandar control.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? Is there a resolution?
Apparently Microsoft has a knowledge base article about it (311219 ),

BUG: Office XP Version of Mscal.ocx Breaks Binary Compatibility For Early
Bound Clients

According to this article, VBA projects should not be affected because they
use late binding by default, but my app is affected only on machines
upgraded from 2000 to XP. Original XP installations are not experiencing
the error.

Any help or information is appreciated.

Thanks,

Phil

Welcome to the joys of DLL hell. It is exactly for these reasons that I
wrote a non ActiveX(No registration req) of the MonthCalendar control.
It is the exact same control with a several more exposed props and
methods.

Alternatively, if your needs are simply to select a single date then
perhaps you should use a simple Form based Calendar. I have used Arvin's
here:
