Hi,

I'm trying to install Office 2K3 Standard via GPO to a Windows XP sp2
client, however when the policy gets applied to the client it produces the
following errors in the app log as per KB article 278472

Source: Application Management
Event ID 108
Failed to apply changes to software installation settings. Software changes
could not be applied. A previous log entry with details should exist. The
error was The installation source for this product is not available. Verify
that the source exists and that you can access it.

Source: Application Management
Event ID 303
The removal of the assignment of application "Package Name" from policy
"Policy Name" succeeded.

Source: Application Management
Event ID 102
The install of application "Package Name" from policy "Policy Name" failed.
The error was The installation source for this product is not available.
Verify that the source exists and that you can access it.

I have set the permisions according to the article, but to no avail. I've
even opened the share and NTFS permissions to everyone full control, but that
didn't produce any results either.

I've also set up logging for the Windows Installer service. and I get an
errors that coincide with the event log (basically that it cannot find the
installation source) when I've logged in, I have tried a manual installation
from the share and that works. I have also tried this with a windows 2000
client and had no issues at all.

I'm kinda running out of ideas here so if anyone can help out that would be
great.

Thanks

Lawrence
