Errors when saving Word 2004 file to Windows server

I have a Mac running OSX 10.4.9 and Word 2004 with the latest updates,
that is having issues saving one particular file to the server. It
doesn't seem to have any other issues saving files to the server.
This file gives an error message about not enough disk space or
permissions and then shows the file name as Word Work File L####. The
original file disappeared and we restored it from backup. It saved
once then gave the error again and disappeared again. Other things
that have been tried were to create a new document and copy and paste
the contents of the original file to the new document and that new
file then has the issue; save as a different file name but that didn't
work either. Any ideas on how to resolve this issue with this one
file?

Thank you,

Try the copy & paste again, but this time be sure to *not* select the last
pilcrow (¶)... easiest method I know is:

Command+A, Shift+Command+LeftArrow, Command+C, then paste into a new blank
doc & save. That last ¶ carries all the corruption along with it, so if you
copied that the first time you simply - and completely - cloned the
corruption along with the content :)
