cannot find the file'c:\documents and
setting\user\desktop\paper.doc' (or one of its componets).
make sure the path and filename are correct and all
required libraries are available

Does this happen with all documents? Try re-registering Word by going to
Start, Run and typing in

winword /a

and press OK. This will re-register Word in Windows and should resolve the
problem.

BTW, it isn't a good idea to save documents to the Desktop. The Desktop is a
very dodgy location and it is easy to corrupt or lose anything saved there.
It is Ok to keep shortcuts on the Desktop though.
