I'm seeing any number of situations where reasonably capable users are
asking about "correcting" circumstances which appear to follow the
installation of updates. In many cases these "corrections" amount to nothing
more than Preference settings which seem to be different than what they were
prior to applying the update. These are often settings that the users
weren't even aware of & would have had no reason to change. For example:
Excel's calculation pref being switched to manual reather than Automatic,
dbl-clk allows editing being reversed, etc.
Word's Print prefs changed to not print Drawing Objects, Draft Font being
turned on, etc.
Is it just coincidental that these circumstances seem to be more prevalent
immediately following the release of updates or is it possible that the
updating is actually causing prefs to be changed?
