escalation, resourses for set of task

1) I'm trying to add escalation of resources, for example,
John salary may increase by 4% next year, 5% the year
after. Is there anyway to do this automatically in
Project without having to define more resources.

2) I'd to view the resource summary for only a sub-set of
tasks (more than one, less than all), but can't see how to
do it. Any suggestions?

Scott:

You can define rates for resources with effective dates, however you need to
enter them for each resource along with the effective date. From a resource
view, open the resource dialog and click on the Costs tab. Note that you can
define up to 25 date-driven rate changes.
