establishing new 2007 outlook

Hi Ih ave outlook express 6 and i am trying to convert to outlook 2007 i set
it up and I have a successful attempt only the test message never showed up
in the inbox nor have I received any mail.

I disabled my outlook express by removing the incoming and outgoing mail.
Did I miss a step? Can someone help me?

When you say "test message" did you use the "Test Account Settings" function
within the Email Accounts dialog box, or did you just send a "test" message
in Outlook to yourself?
