EURO support lost

Hi,

Had a harddisk failure which wiped out all my WIN98 fonts.
I successfully managed to restore all fonts using MS KB
and installed MS 'More Euro fonts-Office patch' as well.
Now the Euro symbol works EXCEPT for standard Arial font.

RIGHT-ALT + 5 or ALT 0128 just show a square.

Tried several Arial fonts from other working systems but at no avail.
I need the Arial Euro symbol very badly (using Office97).


Who has a clue?

Thk for responding.

Nice guess.
I checked it, even worse, the currency character is some kind of blob.
Certainly no Euro symbool.
So still stuck at my weird problem
