Euro symbol

I have been trying to aquire a euro symbol for general use by employing the
Alt key. A question sent to Microsoft did not get a reply. One can go round &
round in ever decreasing circles in the MS site. I have aquired the symbol in
Excel but not in a free standing mode, ie I cannot head a column with the
(symbol) only (symbol -) which is reached by hitting the symbol button & zero.

As the Euro is now threatening the Dollar I would have thought it was time
for MS to give us an updte to the character set.

Whether this actually displays as the Euro sign depends on the font you're
using and the version of that font. With some, you'll just get the
rectangular box which means that no glyph is avaialbe for that character
code.

If you have a frequent need to use the Euro symbol and you have a recent
version of Office, you may want to add it to Tools, Autocorrect Options.
