european dates

Hi,

I am working from an American laptop (American version of Windows), but I am
designing a database to be used in Africa. I need all dates for this
database to be European (dd/mm/yyyy) without reformatting my laptop to all
European dates.

I have tried creating date field with dd/mm/yyyy in the format for the
fields, but it doesn't work - it seems to think I'm entering an American date
and that I want it to switch my date around.

This seems like it would be a common problem, but I haven't found any other
threads on the subject.

If you follow the advice in that article to handle the 3 cases where Access
can get confused, there is nothing else you need to do. Access will display
the dates for the user and accept their entry in whatever format *their*
computer is nominates in the Regional Settings of the Windows Control Panel.

If you wish to prove that to yourself, you can change your Regional
Settings, test it, and then change them back.
