Evaluation version and hotfix

I have the Project Standard 2003 evaluation kit. I would
like to apply the hotfix patch 832887. However the
installer refuses, complaining about wrong versions or
whatever. Does anyone know if the patch can be applied to
the evaluation version? Has anyone actually done it?
