Adding email enabled Active Directory groups in 'Assigned
To' drop download of a list

We have created a custom list on docs for Call Ticketing.
In that list we have a field 'Assigned To' which is used
to assign a task to any user. Once a person assigns a
task to a user A then user A received an email alert for
the new task.

Now few users wants to add mail enabled Active Directory
groups into that list. They want it so that once they
assign the task to that group, the mail automatically
goes to members of that AD group.

I've added the Active Directory group to SharePoint
Portal 2003 list. The group was added under Site Settings
Manage Users section.

Once I go to that list, I can't see or add that group in
the Assigned To drop down list. The current settings of
that field in that list is some thing like that.

From the lists page I followed this. Modify Settings &
Columns > Under Column Section I click the Assinged To
field. Under 'Optional settings for Column' section,

Get Information from:

User Information

Let Me know how can I add mail enabled Active directory
groups in that list so we can assign task to groups also
rather than just to users.
