Event Management Database

I am trying to develop a database that will help me manage an event we hold
every year...I have been using excel and word to manage everything and end up
having tons of spreadsheets and workbooks, word files and I just want one
database that holds and updates all the information for the attendees and
events when I need to make changes instead of me having to go back through
everything one by one. Can someone help me??

That sounds similar to a project I took on for a state-level senior games
organization. They were using paper & pencil to track their registrations
and event participants. They were pretty much maxed out at around 150
participants. Access turned out to be a very functional tool in building a
system, which they recently used to manage over 1500 participants.

Are you looking to create a system that only you will use, or something that
would be usable by folks with limited experience with databases? You need
to decide this, as it is easy to build a starting system, but much harder to
build one that is user-friendly.

Do you have a list of requirements/specifications? That would be the very
first step you'd want to take before deciding how to achieve those needs.

Best of luck! The project I took on ended up spreading over several years,
so plan to invest some time!
