EventLog Error 0x80004005, 0x80040e31 and PDS error 0x238e on MSProject Server 2003

Hello All,

This is on MS Project Server 2003 SP3 deployment. Couple of users
reported that they were not able to open Project views (any project).
When I checked on the web app servers, every server's application log
had loads of error messages with error codes as below.

Component: PjBusObj or PjMsgHlr Error Number: 0x80004005
Component: PDS Error Number: 0x238e
Component: PjQuery Error Number: 0x80040e31

There are no even log errors on database server. Any help would be
appreciated.

More times than not this indicates a permissions issue. Have you checked the
security settings in Project Server for these users?

Hi Gary,

Thanks for your reply. There was no security changes made
globally on Project Server or to the specific users. This issue is to
every users of Project Server and they are not able to see the Project
Views. This being said, can you please be specific on what sort of
permission issues would cause this problem? Also the event log is
getting added with these errors every few minutes.
