Every time I start outlook it automatically launches

Every time I start outlook it automatically launches
word. I have tried shutting this down but then I cannot
use word as my editor. How do I stop this from happening
?

I would like to keep using word as my editor and I am
using outlook XP on window 2000.

I believe you would need to disable Word as email editor.

I know that works problem is I want to continue to use it
as my editor. It works on my laptops but not my desktops I
have a call into dell to see if they can come up with
something.

I don't know either but this is the behavior if Word is the default editor. Uses close to 24KB of memory so yes it is bloated. It for me is about 3rd highest in Memory usage out of all the running processes.
