Everytime I open outlook it downloads emails I have already opene

Assistance would be greatly appreciated. Just installed outlook 5 days ago.
Everytime I sign in old emails download again. Is there anyway to rid myself
of this?

Is Outlook properly completing the POP conversation with the server? If
Outlook does not finish the handshake with the server, then the server does
not know the client got the emails.

Does it download ALL emails again or only a bunch of old ones each time?

Download all the emails with another Outlook profile or another email
application so that your online storage is empty. Then see if future
messages only download once.

Do you have any antivirus email integration enabled?
