Excel '03 problem

When I open excel and click a cell, excel locks on the cell and acts like I'm
holding the right mouse button down and selecting a range of cells. And I
can't find the key or key combination that frees the cursor/pointer. It
happens on every excel file I open.. Anyone have any ideas?!?!
