Excel 04 Find file

is it me or has the Find File feature disappeared in the open dialogue
window. It used to reside in Excel X right next to the open selection
button in the bottom left, now in Xcel 04 it is gone. Found this to be
extremely handy for finding a group of Xcel files with the same name
just different numbering and being able to select a whole bunch of
files to open at once. Now have to open each sheet one at a time as
have to serch through many folders. What is up with that. Basic
feature gone?????

Hi Grad,

Sorry to say that yes, FindFile is a goner. You can get similar
functionality from Finder's find file utility (Apple+F from the desktop).

FindFile had additional features that were desirable, but for some reason it
has been lost on both Mac and Windows versions of Office.

You can send feedback to Microsoft requesting that FindFile be restored by
using the feedback option from Excel's help menu. I have the feeling that
there isn't much Microsoft can do about restoring this particular feature,
though, so don't get your hopes up.
