Excel 2000 and CSV-files after KB936511

Hello,

I hope this is the right newsgroup. I have searched the internet for
solution of my problem, but I have not found something really useful.

Since the installation of KB936511 (MS07-036) I have troubles opening
CSV-Files. My regional settings of the PC are GERMAN(GERMANY) and so decimal
sign is a comma.

Before the patch was installed I could open CSV-files with numbers
containing a point as decimal sign. Excel “translated†the points to commas
automatically and I did my calculations.

Now Excel “translates†numbers into date or text. It depends on the value.

Is there any possibility that Excel will work as it worked before the patch?

The only workaround I know right now is

-switch the regional settings to English
-open csv-file
-switch back to German

Hope someone can help me with this problem.

Thanks a lot!

Tobias
