Excel 2000 crashes when downloading template

Every time I try to download a 2005 calendar in Excel format, Excel crashes.
I have tried it on 2 different machines. Both running Win XP Home and Office
2000 Professional version SP3. Microsoft crash analysis advises to update
Office. Only available updates are security updates.
