Excel 2000 Error - Application Quits When Opening File

Excel 2000 on Windows 2000


Excel file is located on a file share. If I double click on file from within
Windows Explorer, it opens without any problem. If I attempt to open file
from within Excel > File > Open , Excel will immediately quit without any
error.

On another machine I can open the file from within Excel by using the File >
Open method, without any issues.

I have re-installed the OS, along with Office. Issue remains.


Any suggestions would be appreciated.
