Excel 2000 messed up

I have Excel 2000. I just reinstalled it on my new laptop. I also
installed Adobe Acrobate v6.0. It put the PDF Maker Toolbar on both
Excel and Word XP. I finally got rid of the Adobe Toolbar. But now,
I get a message whenever I open or close Excel -- that there is a
compile error in a hidden module. Also, each time I open Excel, the
installer runs. The Excel Startup folder is empty.

1. How do I make the installer stop running?
2. How to I get rid of the error message?
