Excel 2000 (Office XP) Sudden Problem

Tony

Hi: I need some help. I'm running XP with all updates etc.

My spreadsheets are starting to act really strange and I am at a loss to
figure out what is wrong. The spreadsheets have multiple pages.

For some reason after the spreadsheet opens and I move to a different page
the program locks up. When I go to any cell the cursor shows a block arrow
pointing to the page icon (I guess) and if I go to the task bar or any other
toolbar I get a circle with the line through it.

It seems that the program is waiting for some response from me but esc, or
anything else I try doesn't work. The only option is alt ctrl del. I
thought it was only happening with one spreadsheet but now it seems it is
happening with another one. I worked on both of them yesterday so something
happened yesterday.

Sending the error message to MS is of no help since they say buy Office 2007.

Any help would be appreciated. I am sure (pray) it is something rather
simple that I am missing.

Thanks

Tony

You may just have some configuration setting messed up. Close Excel and then
try hiding Excel10.xlb

On my machine its in:

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel
