Excel 2000 Problems

Everytime I try to graph in excel my whole computer
freezes and I have no choice but to manually shutdown my
computer. I don't know why this problem is occurring and
has since before all the virus problems. If anyone has had
the same problem or knows how to fix this...please let me
know.

I'm a Chemistry/Biology major and really need excel for
graphing and data compilation and analysis. thanks so much.

What O/S are you using, what kind of processor, how much memory? What else
do you have open when you try this (other programs running, if any?)
Graphing sucks up resources...
