We are using a shared excel 2000 workbook located on a file server. Almost
daily, the file causes excel to lockup during the loading of the file. The
only way to get out of the situation is to use task manager to end the task
(excel). When this happens no one can get into the file. We are all running
Windows 2000, but there is one "Lab" computer which is running Windows NT
4.0. We have to open the workbook on the NT computer, un-share and save
before anyone can open the workbook again.
We do not get this problem when the workbook is un-shared, but then only one
person can work on it at a time.
Is there any known fix for this? We have Office 2000, sp3. Windows 2000,
sp4.
