Excel 2000 sr-1: Page fault in kERNAL32.dd

I have been having conisitent problems with excel locking
up. usually the program displays a blank dialogue box with
a close button, but on accasion it will generate an error
message as follows.\: "Excel caused an invalid page fault
in module KERNAL32.DLL at 017f:bff714ac. I can usually re-
open excel without re-booting, but my printer has been
disabled.I have reloaded the entire office 2000 package
and the print drivers for my hP6100 and have run every
scan or repair program for windows that I can find. Has
anyone encountered a sim ilar problem?
