A user of Win2000 using Office 2000 with an Excel 2000 spreadsheet open from floppy drive access was viewing and made a copy of excel spreadsheet cell data from the file. When the necessary manipulation was complete, the user changed the floppy in the drive to another floppy containing different file data but made no file access. Later, the user closed the original floppy accessed file and when prompted to save changes, selected NO. The floppy drive then accessed and proceeded to duplicate ALL files from the original floppy to the new floppy overwritting all files on the disk. (Basically acted like an XCOPY from the original floppy to the new inserted floppy in the drive)
Looking to determine the following
1)Method of recovering original data from the floppy that was overwritten
2)Repairs, patch, settings for Office 2000/Excel 2000 to prevent reoccurance.
