excel 2001 won't open

I am still having trouble opening excel 2001 in os 9.2. I downloaded and
used the office 2001 remove program. I also dowloaded and installed the
service release. I tested my extensions, they are not the problem. I
also rebuilt the desktop file. No luck. I ended up installing excel 98
which still works.

Did you increase the preferred memory setting (File/Get
Info/Memory)? If not, try raising it by 5MB or more (leave the
minimum setting alone).

When you tested your extensions, did anything change?
