There is a possibility the 'profile" itself is damaged. Establish a new
profile similar to the first, copy the file into the new profile using
Windows Explorer just to be safe, open the copied file, and see if you can
execute the portrait ladscape switch without Excel closing. If all works ok,
you probably have a damaged profile. Copy over all your files, copy over your
Outlook .pst file, etc. and you should be ok. After a while and you are sure
you got everything, you can then delete the damaged 'profile'.

i tried but still no difference...it only happens for a particular profile,
if logged into another profile, its fine.
