Excel 2002 - does not open excel files

I have the following issu

Excel 2002 does not open excel files when a excel file is double clicked. It can be opened via file-ope

I have tried the followin

- Reinstalled excel
- Reinstalled offic
- Reregister excel in registr
- Created a new user profil
After doing all this it runs fine for a couple of days and then has the same problem. If i reboot the computer it works for a couple of days and then runs into the same problem. User opens up several large excel files daily. Any help will be appreciated

I have that same prob with my excel and the same happends
with word also. If you hear of a solution please let me

Sounds like the file associations (read in "help" by searching for "file
association") for Excel are getting changed. What could be causing this
change? Some sort of manual change your are inadvertently changing, or
is it a computer virus or something? Something is causing the change
and it is not likely to be Excel.
