Excel 2002 - 'Encountered a Problem' window

I keep getting intermittent 'Encountered a Problem, Excel
needs to Restart' window when opening my files, which
contain numerous pivot tables and formulas. Files without
pivots open fine. Any help / advice appreciated. Thanks.
