Im trying to use the Docmd.echo=True to freeeze the
screen and it keeps complining. This can not be this
difficult..

The code, DoCmd.Echo = True, works in Microsoft Access.
In Excel, use:

Application.ScreenUpdating = False
'your code here
Application.ScreenUpdating = True
