Excel 2003 hyperlinks randomly change

Hi everyone i need some help with excel 2003.
We have at my company Excel 2003 file which we use to index through
hyperlinks word 2003 files. the files are on a file server , sometimes the
hyperlinks changing automaticly like :
before :
file:///\\file server\sharename\library name\document.doc
after :
file:///c:\document and settings\username\local settings\temporary internet
files\document.doc

the changing happen randomly , and only one user is allowed writing to the
directory , others have only read permission.

Yes, the permissions are the cause, as the file is being opened in the
local temporary directory.

thank you for your answer bob , i have checked the permissions and it seems
ok , and i think if the permissions were wrong then the changes to the
hyperlinks would not have been saved to the file
