When I open an excel 2003 file called TESTA using Excel 2007 and allow the
links to update, it crashes Excel. I found out that there are 3 links in the
file and when I allow 2 of the links to update, it is fine. But when I allow
the 3rd link to update, it crashes Excel. If I open the excel file called
TESTB that the 3rd link is referring to first and then open the file, TESTA,
and allow the links to run, there aren't any problems. Can someone tell what
is going on? Other users can open TESTA and update the links within excel
2003 without any issues. I would like to be able to open the file, TESTA,
and update the links without having to open TESTB first.
BTW, to even open up TESTA originally I had to open a blank excel file in
2007 and change the Calculation options to Manual from Automatic in the
Formulas tab.
Please help
