Excel 2003 Opening Excel XP spreadsheet

From Excel 2003, getting this message on opening a
spreadsheet sent to me that was saved in Excel XP:

'[workbook name] requires Excel XP, SP1 or greater'.

Tried 'Ignore Other Applications' checkbox on
Tools>Options>General tab, but same message.

Anyone know how I can open this?
