Excel 2003 Query Definition Disappears

Background:
My company maintains a few static (refreshed overnight, actually) Oracle DB
tables which users query via the ODBC connection in MS Excel 2003 (Win XP
Pro, if that matters). Our users typically pull the data into a file then
build pivot tables off of it to further analyze and consume the data. The
workbooks are saved locally and refreshed when needed (typically a few times
each month) by right-clicking in the data and using the "refresh query"
command. I have a colleague who keeps losing her query definition, leaving
her with just the data in the file, forcing her to rebuild the query from
scratch when she needs it. She's been diligent about making sure the "save
query definition" box is checked, but still experiences the problem. Does
anyone have any ideas what to check, or where to go for additional help?
