Excel 2003 will not start

I have installed Office 2003 and for some reason Excel will not start,
Word, Access, Powerpoint, Frontpage and Outlook all start with no
problems but when I try and start Excel I get a window open that says
"Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Office XP Professional
with Frontpage" a progress bar moves along the bottom whilst there is
alot of hard disc access, when it gets to the end, another pop up box
open's saying it has been installed and you have to click ok, after
this nothing happens and if I try to open Excel again the same thing
happens all over again. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing
Excel as well as Office but with only the same results, I have also
tried starting Excel in safe mode as well as Excel in safe mode whilst
Windows XP was in safe mode as well, all with the same results. I hope
somebody out there can help me as its getting rather annoying....

Hi Michael,

Do you have administrator rights on your machine? If not, then this could
be why it's not completing the configuration of Office XP properly - because
it should by rights go through that message and configure itself and then be
right to start.

Cheers,
Katherine

Hi Katherine,

Yes I have full Admin rights on the machine.....it just seems odd that
all the other office components work fine..
