Excel 2003 worksheet functions

B

Bill

I'm experiencing something REALLY wierd.
I'm a VERY experienced EXCEL user, and I've just
installed the Excel 2003, and I am having the Da**ed-est
of times to get the actual FUNCTION to evaluate.

I've tried even simple functions...
=3.2*a2

and what is printed in the cell is...
=3.2*a2

it doesn't actually evaluate it. I'm confused, can
someone please help? I've included my email address so
as someone can answer it, please do it directly as
well... thanks!

I need this for a project by EOTWeek.

Bill,

It might be that the "View Formulas" option is enabled. Go to the Tools
menu, choose Options, then the View tab. There, ensure that the "Formulas"
option is unchecked.

Another cause is that the cells are formatted as Text. Change the format to
General and then re-edit the formulas.
