Excel 2004 crashes after deleting some datas

Dear Sir,
I have problems with simple data-sheets (seven different data vertically, a timescale horizontally), parallel to it on page 2 a linear diagram with 7 curves accordingly.
After having deleting rows of data, i.e. cell lines, their description still show up within the legend of the diagram, only without numbers then.
Whenever I try to change that, means getting rid of these now obsolete descriptions, Excel crashes. I tried several times on different data-sheets to change the legend in detail, I deleted them completely, but whenever I am going to save the new configuration, it's over. The crash report was always automatically sent to Microsoft.
Do I handle the whole thing incorrectly? Is there an unknown Bug? I couldn't find a hint of this problem within the forum yet, so I would be very grateful for any help.
Thanks a lot in advance, Gerhard

Sorry for not replying earlier. Is there any way you could send me a copy of
the file? Also, could you click "More Info" in the Microsoft Error Reporting
window when Excel crashes, then copy/paste the entire error log into an
email message and send it tome?

Thanks,

Pat McMillan

Sorry for the delay, Gerhard. I tried, but was unable to reproduce the crash
you were seeing. I'm going to contact you directly with some more questions.

Thanks,

Pat

I have also encountered this problem. It would happen occasionally, now I can reproduce it every time I work on a certain project I have.

Hi Michael,
I wonder if only the two of us are having this kind of trouble.
I am still waiting for Pats suggestions.

Apologies for the delay, Gerhard. I'll see if I can get to the bottom of
this soon.

For Michael -- In order to see if this is the same issue Gerhard is
reporting, or a separate issue, it would be very helpful if you could send
me a file with specific steps that lead to the crash.

Thanks,

Pat McMillan
