excel 2004 crashes when I add or delete row(s)

Sorry to bother everyone with this request. There is no Microsoft Office 2004
help possible because it is not on the pull-down menu for product ID entry to
get a MS person to help you. When you enter the product ID on the CD folder
it comes back and tells you that it is the wrong format. Thanks Microsoft.

Problem: whether I add or delete one row or many in Excel 2004, it crashes
the program. I have tried it 10 times.

I am a new user to mac and I have a G5. I ran from the PC because of all the
viruses (also a Microsoft problem) and now cannot use my spreadsheets because
of this problem with new Mac Office 2004.

If anyone knows how to reach Microsoft Help, please send this message!

Thank you

Hi

Excel should not crash when you add rows.

Let's start with the easiest thing to do first. With all office applications
closed, in your Applications folder there is a Utilities folder. Run Disk
Utility, then choose the hard drive and on the First Aid tab click the
Repair Permissions button.

Then try Excel again and let us know with a follow-up posting whether or not
this worked.

Thanks.
