Does Excel 2004 allow for a customized toolbar with a personal rank-ordered
list of a few preferred fonts?

I don't see fonts among the choices in the Categories list for Excel 2004

(In Word X and now also in Word 2004, I'm able to create such a customized
toolbar. I once got this counsel in the Mac Word newsgroup:

(Go to Word's View menu. Select Toolbars, and then select Customize from the
submenu. In the resulting Customize window, press the New button. A new
toolbar window will appear. Assign the new toolbar an intuitive name such as
"My Fonts." A small, empty toolbar will appear when you click OK in this
window.

(Now click the Commands tab in the Customize window and select Fonts from
the Categories list. Drag those fonts that you'd care to add to your toolbar
from those fonts that appear in the Commands list to the right. When you're
finished, press OK in the Customize window.)

XL doesn't expose fonts the same way. You could create the toolbar using
VBA easily enough, though it would not be easily customizable on the fly
for most users.

I'm headed off for some shut-eye shortly: post back if you want some
example code.
