G4 powerbook with Office 2004 for Mac Standard installed. All apps
print quickly except for Excel. It takes about 20 or so seconds for
the printer to start up from the print request, it will then print 2
lines, wait another 15-20 seconds, print a few more lines, etc. Then,
about half way thru the page, it would take off and finish the job.
The answer: I was printing a worksheet that was originally created in
a Windows version of Excel. 2003, I think, maybe 2000.
The remedy: In the Mac version, create a new workbook, copy and paste
all worksheets from the Windows version using the Keep Source
Formatting option, into new workbook created by the Mac version.
Until I figured that out, I was about to blow a gasket waiting on these
sheets to print.
