I have had trouble getting the Macros to work on a workbook developed in Excel 97-2003. It prompts me to either Enable Macros, Disable Macros, or another request I can't quite recall. I clicked "Enable Macros", but the macros won't run. Is there a Security Center as there is in version 2007 for Windows? Is there something I'm missing? Thanks.

Hi Chris:

There is no "Security Centre" as such in Excel 2004. You have either
enabled macros or you haven't.

However, if the macros you have were protected with Windows code-signing,
you can't run them in Excel 2004 because it cannot decode Windows DRM
protection.

You will need to ask them for an unprotected version.

If the problem is that there is a "Compile Error", then you may need to edit
the code to work around the fact that Excel 2004 is two versions of VBA
behind.

If that's the case, the VBA editor should open with the offending statement
highlighted in yellow. But if the code is protected, it can't, and you will
get "Compile Error in Hidden Module".

Again, you will need to ask the source for an unprotected copy so you can
find the trouble.

Cheers
