Excel 2004's Insert menu does not include text box option?

In an earlier version of Excel, I recall being able to go under the Insert
pulldown menu to "Insert Text Box."

Excel 2004 "Help" says this: "On the Insert menu, click text box." But
although Word 2004 includes "text box" under Insert, Excel 2004 does not.

So, how does one create a text box in Excel 2004, please?

Hi Norman,

If you start with the Excel menu and choose Tools > Customize > Menus
and toolbars a dialog box will open. While that dialog box is open you
can add, remove, and move all the menu and toolbar commands to your liking.

There is a Commands tab in that dialog box that lists all of the
commands. Drag the Insert Text command to the Insert menu and you'll be
able to use it the way the help topic says. Or drag the command to any
other location. While you're in the Commands section I bet you'll find
lots of useful commands to play with.

Thanks so very much, Jim. Now that you've opened my eyes to the delightful
power of tools customization, I'm delighted that the Excel 2004 "Help" info
was out-of-date on "Insert Text Box."

Including the Text Box tool directly on my formatting toolbar works for me!
And, just in case I forget, I also copied it to my Insert pulldown menu and
then wrote an Entourage Note to incorporate your excellent instructions.

I also wish to thank Trevor for thoughtfully sharing the info on the
Drawing toolbar.

There is also an Add Objects segment in the Formatting Palette which
includes the Text Box Tool along with several other Text Shapes & Features.
I can't remember if it is displayed by default, but if not just click the $B"'(B
at the palette's bottom edge and put a check in the box to add it.
