Due to business requirements we had to install Excel 2007 side by side
with Excel 2003, but with Excel 2003 being the default spreadsheet
application. We accomplished this by executing the 2003 excel.exe
/regserver. Now, due to another business requirement, they now want
Excel 2007 as the default spreadsheet application, but still wish to
keep Excel 2003 on the PCs.
Is there an easy way to script this? There is not a /regserver switch
for the Excel 2007 version of Excel.exe and the only way I've been able
to accomplish this is to uninstall Excel 2007 and reinstall it.
Unfortunately we want to accomplish this without having to reinstall the
application as it seems to be a waste since it's already installed on
the PCs.
