excel 2007 macros issues with sql server

first time caller long time listner :)

I am not a huge excel macro or sql server user. Our DBA is looking for some
assistance.

The issue at a high level is that they have migrated the database and when
they update the odbc information in excel the user is able to hit the
database but the macros will not work.

However, if they re-point back to the older database it works fine.

Any thoughts on where to look. My initial guess was the macro but the only
thing which appears to have changed was the database instance that excel is
connecting to.

My follow up to the dba was have they always been using excel 2007 and the
responce was yes.
