Excel 2007 Sheet with rows more than 15000

While working with excel sheets having rows more than 15000 lines, sometimes
I observe that the processing is slowed down if data more than 15000 lines is
selected. However the work is takes very less time if number of rows selected
are less than say 12000. I have 2GB RAM, Can someone help me on this issue?

I'm not sure what type of help you're looking for. Excel 2007 is what it is,
and you either need to select more than 15,000 rows or you don't. Other than
purchasing and installing more RAM on the computer or buying a newer, faster
computer with tons of RAM I'm not sure what can be done.

Quite frankly, speed of operation has been a point of discussion for Excel
2007 since it was released. Under certain conditions it can be much slower
at doing the same job than with earlier versions. Factors involved include
processor speed, amount of RAM installed, type of formulas involved, quantity
of formulas involved, other processes running on the computer, and more. In
some cases it's been noted that processing of some workbooks actually slows
down when all cores on a mult-core CPU are used and that reducing the number
of cores used for threads can help improve speed slightly. (Office button
--> [Excel Options] --> Advanced and scroll down to the [Formulas] section
and try either disabling multi-threading or reducing the number of processors
used for threading. Experimenting may find a 'sweet spot' for you, maybe not.)

I would try to explain what I experience. If any operation [ such as subtotal
, Removing of subtotal , inserting blank rows at row number say 14700, Find
large number of blank cells & replace the same with "0" etc. ] is performed
on a worksheet containing less than 15000 rows of data, it gives result in
fraction of second, but the same operation takes more than 10 to 20 seconds
if it is performed on a worksheet containing say 17000 or 20000 rows of data.
I wonder whether the operation is performed in batches in excel?

I can't answer that, as I really don't know how Excel handles those kinds of
tasks; whether it simply goes row by row, or as you asked about perhaps
grabbing them in specific sized blocks of memory and dealing with the blocks
individualy in some fashion.
