After I installed Office 2007 I realized I had a problem with some
FilemakerPro files that I download on a regular basis into a specific folder.
All of the downloaded files had been converted to Excel files. Any
suggestions on what to do about this and making sure that future downloads
are not automatically converted to Excel files?

Office 2007? That means you're looking for the windows group at

Oops! Wish I was working with my Mac as I probably wouldn't be having all these problems.
