First off, thank you all very much for your feedback here on the Excel for Mac newsgroup. User feedback is essential to ongoing software improvements, so keep your reports coming in. Even if we can’t react immediately we’ll definitely be listening and, when possible, responding.
Rest assured that the Mac BU team is fully engaged on all the high-volume topics reported here. MacBU engineers are hard at work looking at these and other issues. As with any software project, we don’t think our work here is done. We’re tracking all kinds of inputs, from press reports to product support calls to newsgroups and beyond. We’re deeply committed to finding and, when possible, fixing the important issues.
Our pledge is this: when we are able to fix, we will. Not every issue is equal in engineering terms. Some are quick fixes that can be rolled out as a software patch. Others are foundational changes that will need to wait until a full version release. For those issues that can’t be fixed in the near term, we’ll do our best to provide realistic workarounds. Above all, we’ll be doing our best to keep in touch. It may not be as frequent as we’d like, but your feedback and concerns will always be top of mind for the entire MacBU team, including Excel.
Warm regards,
Stuart DeSpain
